Kidderminster is a growing industrial
town situated in the north of the county of Hereford and Worcester.
It stands between the River Stour
and the Staffordshire and Worcestershire Canal, and is part of the
picturesque Wyre Forest District.
Kidderminster lies just off the M5 and M42, and is conveniently
close to the towns of Birmingham, Wolverhampton and Worcester.
It also has close links to Husum in
Germany, its twin town. Husum is a North Sea fishing port close
to Germany's Danish border and the two towns first made contact
in 1955, with the Twinning Charter eventually signed in 1976/77.
The Kidderminster market takes place
on Thursday and Saturday mornings.
Weekly carpet auctions are also common
events in the town famous for its quality woven carpets and home
to the famed Brintons Carpet Factory.
The towns shopping centre features
many well know High Street names and a variety of events can be
found throughout the year at Brintons Park and The Glades Arena.
